History
Whiskey ASSEMBLAGE is the result of the collaboration between Aymeric oenologist, father of French whiskeys A. Roborel de Climens, and Cedrik founder of the Maison Mounicq specialized in the production of spirits made from grapes: the Vodka Nadé and the Gins Avem.
The two Bordelais have united their expertise to design a whiskey imbued with their common passion for vines.
Aymeric has selected the best spirits from the Hepp Artisanal Distillery, then, refined them in barrels of wines from Bordeaux castles.
Cedrik, after having chosen three of them, was once again inspired by his winemaker roots to combine them perfectly as one would blend a wine.
Aromatic profile
Despite its 50.2% alcohol content, this whiskey is, paradoxically, very delicate and round, like the other creations of Maison Mounicq.
The 3 years of aging in French wood, gives ASSEMBLAGE aromas of flamed bananas then of ripe fruit in the middle of the mouth, and delicate bitter citrus to finish. The nose, it reveals delicate scents of candied fruit, vanilla and cocoa.
Refining in old Bordeaux wine barrels allows ASSEMBLAGE to reveal the subtle flavors of the different grape varieties:
The Merlot gives it notes of red berries, prunes and spices, while the Sémillon gives it hints of hazelnuts, acacia flowers and honey. As for the Sauvignon, it brings freshness and light touches of bitterness.
Their union gives a nice color and a great complexity to the ASSEMBLAGE whiskey.
