After receiving numerous medals, the first gin from the Avem family was designated as “the Bordeaux spirit” by Xavier Thuizat, best sommelier in France.

It's the end of summer, but to continue enjoying it, Xavier Thuizat's cellar offers a selection of gins ideal for making gin and tonics!
In thisselection , our Hippolais gin is in the spotlight. “Maison Mounicq with Bordeaux grape varieties: Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Merlot, lemon peel, pepper, it’s fabulous, it’s the Bordeaux spirit.”
But then why the Bordeaux spirit?
Maison Mounicq, and more specifically Gin Avem, pay homage to the Bordeaux terroir and the art of blending. They are created with different eaux-de-vie, including one created exclusively with grape varieties from the Bordeaux region (Merlot, Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Sémillon).

Our friend Mixologist Yanice Naili ( @nymixologie ) offers a revisited Negroni with floral and tangy notes to delight you!
Recipe :
- Put ice cubes in a glass
- Add 3cl of Hippolais Gin
- 3cl of rhubarb amaro
- 3cl of red vermouth
- A few drops of saline solution
- And a drop of rhubarb bitters
- Squeeze some orange zest and you're done
