Collection N°1.02: 814 bottles, a new production, new barrels with the same grape varieties, the same Bordeaux châteaux, the same sought-after aromatic profile with the subtleties of the new selected barrels.

Following the excellent feedback on the aromatic profile of WHISKY ASSEMBLAGE Collection N°1, we wished to preserve this recipe by selecting 3 new casks containing Semillon, Merlot and Sauvignon, and thus offer you Collection N°1.02 in a limited edition of 814 bottles. This French single malt is now available.

History

ASSEMBLAGE whisky is the result of the collaboration between Aymeric, oenologist and father of the French whiskies A. Roborel de Climens whiskies, and Cedrik, founder of the Maison Mounicq, which specialises in the production of spirits made from grapes: Nadé Vodka and Avem Gins.

The two Bordelais have combined their know-how to create a whisky that reflects their shared passion for the vine.

Aymeric selected the best eaux-de-vie from the Distillerie Artisanale Hepp, then refined them in wine barrels from Bordeaux Châteaux.

Cedrik, having selected three of them, was inspired, once again, by his winegrowing roots in order to blend them perfectly as one would blend a wine.

Aromatic profile

Despite its alcohol content of 50.2%, this whisky is, paradoxically, very delicate and round, just like the other creations of the Maison Mounicq.

The three years of ageing in French oak give ASSEMBLAGE aromas of flambéed bananas and ripe fruit in the middle of the mouth, finishing with delicate, persistent bitter citrus. The nose reveals delicate aromas of candied fruit, vanilla and cocoa.

The maturation in old Bordeaux wine barrels allows ASSEMBLAGE to reveal the subtle flavours of the different grape varieties :

The Merlot gives it notes of red berries, prunes, undergrowth and spices, while the Semillon gives it nuances of hazelnut, acacia flowers and honey. As for the Sauvignon, it brings freshness and slight touches of bitterness.

The combination of the two gives ASSEMBLAGE whisky a lovely colour and great complexity.
