The history of Maison Mounicq

If Bordeaux grapes can be used to make wines that rank among the best in the world, then why shouldn't they also make prestigious spirits?

Our story

Founded in 2017 in Cadaujac, south of Bordeaux, this family business is named after the founders' grandmother, Cedrik and Axel Nadé, a strong, demanding, and trustworthy woman. These are values that the two brothers wanted to instill in their establishment's DNA.

Our mission

Maison Mounicq's mission is to select and craft remarkable, rare, and exclusive eaux-de-vie, inspired by the world of vines and wine. Of unparalleled quality, they showcase the passionate producers who strive to offer the fruits of their exceptional expertise and the richness of their terroir.

Vodka Nade

The first creation is a prestigious spirit, made in Cognac from grapes from the Bordeaux region. It is a vodka distinguished by its philosophy, its history, and by the research of new processes to create a surprising and elegant spirit, which has won many awards. In 2018, an innovation was born with the world's first vodka aged in former red wine barrels, oak barrels from the family estate.

Gin Avem

In homage to their ornithologist father, and to the freedom that birds embody, the Nadé brothers named their gins Avem, which means “bird” in Latin. Made from grapes from the Bordeaux region, they are crafted using the art of blending, an iconic technique in the wine world. Bordeaux grape varieties Merlot, Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Sémillon provide a rich texture, a beautiful length in the mouth, and perfect balance. These rounded, indulgent gins, with their unique signature, have won numerous awards.

Whisky Blend

They are the fruit of the collaboration between oenologist Aymeric, father of the French whiskies A. Roborel de Climens, and the Nadé brothers. They have combined their expertise to create spirits imbued with their shared passion for the vine. Aymeric selects eaux-de-vie, then refines them in wine barrels from Bordeaux châteaux. Cedrik and Axel, after carefully selecting them, draw inspiration from their winemaking roots to perfectly blend them, as one would blend a wine.

Mint Rosa

The Nadé brothers' idea: to reinterpret mint liqueur, drawing inspiration from the winemaking heritage and the technique of Bordeaux cellar masters of "blend". They therefore combined mint and peppermint, grape alcohol, hyssop and rose, which gave the liqueur freshness, roundness and complexity. It was named Rosa, in reference to the flower used in its composition as well as to the winemaking tradition of planting rose bushes at the end of rows to ensure the good health of the vines.
