Gin Avem - Corvus
Couldn't load pickup availability
Gin Avem Corvus is a powerful and expressive Navy Strength (57.2 °). It is characterized by beautiful bitter notes, combined with the flavors of orange peels and the dominance of juniper berries in its composition.
Tasting notes
Its wine origins offer an oily texture and a good length in the mouth, perfectly balancing the high alcohol level and making this spirit a round and gluttonous gin.
Before tasting, we recommend leaving the gin open for a few minutes and serving it in a wine glass. At Maison Mounicq, we like it pure at room temperature, like all our spirits. You can also add an ice cube to it, like our father, to dilute the alcohol or incorporate a few drops of pure water, a common practice in the world of whiskey. The renowned harmony of neutral gin & tonic, accompanied by a sage leaf, is a must.
Production
Gins Avem are experimental gins made from grapes from the prestigious Bordeaux region (Cabernet-Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Sémillon). They are made by the Nadé brothers, founders of Maison Mounicq, in collaboration with Christophe Gauville, Master distiller of the Des Moisans distillery, located in the town of Sireuil near Cognac. The great typicality of our gins comes from the ancestral production method, generally used for to make Cognacs or Whiskeys, the art of blending. This technique, widely used in the wine universe, is part of the DNA of Maison Mounicq and consists in assembling different spirits to make one single exceptional spirit. For Gin Avem Corvus, we used the same base as our Gin Avem Hippolais, a blend of three spirits, while reducing the reduction, with pure Gensac water, in order to obtain a more powerful gin, 57.2 ° for Corvus against 40.4 ° for Hippolais. We increased the proportion of juniper spirit and added a bitter orange distillate to extend the tasting experience. Navy Strength Gin | 57.2 ° | 50cl | 1200 bottles | France
